Senior Communications Manager
At PropertyGuru, being a Guru for Good is about more than giving back. With dedicated volunteering leave and employee-led Gurus for Good initiatives, Gurus are empowered to create a positive impact through both their work and the communities they serve.
For Nen Lin Soo, Senior Communications Manager in Malaysia, that is what stood out about PropertyGuru from the start.
“What I value about PropertyGuru is that doing good is not separate from the job. It is part of how we live our values and help communities thrive.”
Since then, she has supported and led various Gurus for Good initiatives in Malaysia. One project that stood out was a parent-and-child programme at Taman Tugu Negara organised with Free Tree Society. Through activities such as planting and composting, families were introduced to environmental conservation in a simple and engaging way.
But for Nen Lin, being a Guru for Good extends beyond organised volunteering efforts.
At a recent Raya open house for media and content creators, she chose to partner with PichaEats, a Malaysian social enterprise that supports refugee communities through food. It was a small decision within a larger event, but one that reflects how Gurus at PropertyGuru are encouraged to bring purpose into everyday decisions.
“To me, being a Guru for Good means looking at the work in front of you and asking how it can create a positive impact for the community around us.”
At PropertyGuru, that is what being a Guru for Good looks like. Creating impact not only through dedicated initiatives, but through everyday decisions Gurus make at work.
These are the stories of those who dare to be more.
